About Operation One More

A mission built around one more.

Operation One More began with a simple idea: what if we did one more? One more family. One more bag of groceries. One more act of kindness.

What started as a small effort to help local families during the winter school break has grown into a community-wide movement fueled by generosity, service, and a shared belief that no child should go without nourishing food simply because school is out.

Each year, local schools, churches, businesses, families, and volunteers come together to collect, pack, and deliver groceries to families with young children. Every donation and every volunteer helps us pack one more bag, reach one more family, and make a meaningful difference.

Our Mission

To bring our community together to provide nourishing food to local families with young children during the winter school break—one more at a time.

Our History

It started with 35 families.

Operation One More began in 2018 with a simple desire to share the importance of service as a family within a community. Inspired by a food program founder Stephanie Collura had volunteered with as a teenager in Omaha, she wanted her own children to experience the same spirit of compassion and giving.

That first year, Stephanie and her family gathered groceries and packed food for 35 Rochester-area families to help bridge the gap during winter break. What began as a small family effort quickly caught the attention of the community.

Schools, churches, businesses, families, and volunteers began joining the effort, and Operation One More continued to grow year after year. The name was inspired by the simple idea of helping one more.

“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” — Mother Teresa

Today, Operation One More is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit powered by an incredible network of community partners and volunteers. Together, we collect, pack, and deliver nourishing groceries to local families with young children during the winter school break.

Help one more. Serve one more. Make a difference for one more.
